Preheat the oven to 180°C, separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Then gradually add the egg yolks.
In another bowl, mix the cup of sugar, flour, orange zest, salt, and baking powder.
Add the dry mixture to the beaten eggs until perfectly combined using the mixer.
Add one cup of orange juice and one cup of oil.
Pour into a greased and floured mold and bake at 180°C for approximately 40 minutes. The cake is ready if a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
In a separate bowl, prepare the syrup with half a stick of melted butter, half a cup of sugar, and one cup of orange juice, heat slightly and mix until the ingredients are well dissolved.
Once the cake is baked, take it out of the oven, let it cool slightly, and carefully unmold it to soak it with the syrup while it's still warm, piercing it several times with a fork.
