Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease and flour a square cake pan.
Sift together the flour and baking powder into a bowl and set aside.
Cream the butter with 1 cup of sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix well.
Add the flour to the butter mixture, doing so 2 tablespoons at a time. Beat until all ingredients are well combined. Pour into the pan.
Bake at 175° C for 30 minutes. Poke the surface several times with a fork. This will allow the milk to be absorbed more easily.
Combine the whole milk, evaporated milk, and condensed milk. Pour over the cold cake.
Whip the cream together with the remaining cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whip well until thickened. Spread over the surface of the cake. Keep the cake refrigerated until serving.
