SpongeBob Birthday Cake

  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 3/4 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 liters whipping cream
  • 100 grams cream cheese
  • 150 grams icing sugar, (optional)
  • 250 milliliters cajeta, (bought or made at home)
  • 1 kilo icing sugar
  • 2 unflavored gelatin powder, blades
  • 1/2 cups glucose syrup
  • 2 tablespoons edible glycerin
  • 1 teaspoon pecan essence, or the one you like most
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • gel food coloring, red, black and yellow

  • For the base: Beat 2 cups of sugar with 4 eggs until thick and everything is incorporated.
  • Then add 2 1/2 cups of flour little by little together with 2 1/4 cd of baking powder (I like to sift the flour 2 times to remove the residue and give air to my base), add 1 cup of milk , 3/4 cup of oil and 1 cup of vanilla. Beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy. When adding the milk, do it little by little so that the mixture does not get too liquid.
  • Empty the mixture in a mold with wax paper (star paper) in case you do not have star paper, grease the mold and put a little flour on the entire base and walls; Empty the mixture to ¾ parts of the mold.
  • Bake for 40 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 ° C or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool and stuff as you like.
  • For the filling: Beat the whipping cream with nougat and add the cream cheese, then add the cajeta and in case you want it sweeter, add the 150 grams of glass sugar little by little.
  • Split the base, fill and cover with the cajeta filling. Refrigerate a whole day or if you need the cake for the same day in the freezer, while preparing the fondant.
  • For the fondant: Hydrate the grenetina in two tablespoons of hot water, let cool. Microwave the glucose about 20 seconds until it is liquid, add the essence, butter and glycerin.
  • Also put the glycerin to heat and add it to the other ingredients and add little by little and in the form of thread to the kilo of icing sugar. Beat at low speed so that all the ingredients come together.
  • As they become integrated, we increase the speed so that the fondant takes shape.
  • Once the fondant is ready, we set aside ½ kilo for the yellow color and divide the rest for the other colors.
  • Remove the cake and start stretching the fondant to go lining the cake. First coat everything yellow, then make the white shirt and finally the brown pants. Then go by giving the details of the eyes, tie, belt and the holes of SpongeBob.
