Peel the apples, removing the cores.
Place them in a saucepan with the lemon juice, cover with water and cook them, without allowing them to break apart.
Drain the apples and place them on a tray or serving dish. Put a few sliced almonds inside each apple.
Make a syrup with the sugar, lemon juice, and a tablespoon of water. Pour this syrup over the apples at the time of serving.
