1 cup water
3/4 cups sugar
1 cup star anise pod
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 piece orange peels
600 grams cherries, pitted
1 cup brandy
Preparation

Heat water, sugar, anise, vanilla, and orange peel in a pot over medium heat.
When it starts to boil, add the cherries.
Wait for the cherries to soften, then add the brandy and stir to form the syrup.
Remove from heat, pour the liquid into a jar, seal it, and turn it upside down for a few minutes.
Let it cool to room temperature.
