Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Grease a cake pan (preferably a bundt cake pan like the one in the picture).
With an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating.
In a bowl, beat the butter for 1 minute until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and beat for 2 more minutes. Add the egg yolks and continue beating. Add the vanilla.
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Mix the egg whites, the butter mixture, and the flour mixture.
Transfer 1/3 of the mixture to the baking pan and pour the chocolate over the mixture. Then pour the rest of the batter.
Bake the cake for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before unmolding.
