2 cups flour, sifted
1/2 cups dates, sliced
3/4 cups butter, melted
2 cups raw sugar
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/2 cups coconut grated

Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
In a small bowl, place 2 tablespoons, add the dates, and mix to coat the dates with flour. Set aside.
In a large bowl, with the mixer on low speed, mix butter, the 2 types of sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined. Set aside.
Add the cocoa powder to the remaining flour and mix into the sugar mixture, making sure to clean the edges well.
With folding motions, add the dates and shredded coconut.
Pour the mixture into a greased pan of approximately 25 x 38 cm.
Bake for 20 – 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Cut into squares of approximately 5 cm.
