A rum-soaked dessert called Baba Au Rhum. It is a very old dessert where the cake is soaked in rum and finished with a little whipped cream for decoration. It tastes super delicious!
In a deep bowl, beat 1/2 liter of water with honey, whole eggs, egg whites, add 200 grams of sugar and salt. Incorporate the flour with the baking powder.
Grease and flour a baking mold, preferably ring-shaped, and pour in the mixture. Let it rest for 20 minutes at room temperature.
After the resting time, bake at 180°C for 12 minutes or until cooked; we will know it's done by inserting a fork into the bread, if it comes out clean, remove from the oven.
To prepare the rum syrup, in a pot over medium heat, heat 600 milliliters of water with 250 grams of sugar. Add the rum and when it is well heated, remove from heat and let it cool down a bit.
Once our rum syrup is warm, pour it over our bread ring and it's ready; we can cut it and decorate with whipped cream.
