Coconut and Chocolate Chip Treats

These coconut and chocolate treats are very easy to prepare. The combination of coconut and chocolate is delicious.

  • 3 cups María cookies, ground
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cups unsalted butter, (it's about 1 and a half bars) melted
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 can condensed milk, of 400 milliliters or 14 ounces
  • 1 1/2 cups grated sweet coconuts

  • Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  • Put a little water (about 2 tablespoons) over a baking sheet for brownies (about 25x40 cm) and place parchment paper on top.
  • In a deep bowl, mix the crushed cookies, sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
  • Spread the mixture over the baking sheet, pressing with your fingers to cover the entire mold and place in the oven.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, rotating the baking sheet after 10 minutes. Let cool on a rack.
  • Sprinkle the top with nuts and chocolate chips. Pour the sweetened condensed milk on top (making sure it doesn't spill over the edges) and sprinkle with shredded coconut.
  • Put back in the oven until the coconut is toasted (10-15 minutes).
  • Let cool completely and cut into squares.
