1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature (240 grams)
1 1/2 cups sugar, (300 grams)
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
2 3/4 cups flour, (330 grams)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat the oven to 400ºF (200ºC)
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with the sugar until you achieve a light, creamy, and fluffy consistency.
Add the egg and vanilla extract and stir.
Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, beating well each time you add more.
Divide the mixture into two balls.
On a floured flat surface, knead until you have a dough that is 5 mm thick.
Dust the cookie cutters with flour and cut out the desired cookies.
Place the cookies on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 6-7 minutes (or until slightly golden).
