Cornstarch Dessert

  • 1 liter cow's milk
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 5 milliliters liquid vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • cinnamon powder, for garnish
  • raisins, for garnish

  • Boil the milk with the sugar, once it starts to boil; lower the heat.
  • In a small saucepan, add the tablespoons of cornstarch, a splash of vanilla, one egg yolk, a pinch of salt, and a splash of milk to combine.
  • When the milk starts to boil, add the mixture and stir. (Do not stop stirring as it will stick and clump).
  • When it starts to get very thick like paste, gradually add a can of evaporated milk while continuing to stir. Once integrated, remove from heat.
