Cupcakes for Dad

These cupcakes will delight dad on Father's Day, they are chocolate and have a vanilla frosting on top.

  • 1 3/4 cups cake mix, of chocolate
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup salted butter , at room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 1/2 cups plain yogurt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter , at room temperature (for the frosting)
  • 6 cups powdered sugar, (for the frosting)
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk , (for the frosting)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence, (for the frosting)
  • 200 grams chocolate, for the mustaches

  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC and place the cupcake liners in the cupcake molds.
  • In a bowl, mix the flours, sugar, and baking powder.
  • In a mixer, beat the butter at medium speed.
  • Add and beat the eggs, milk, and yogurt.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the previous mixture and beat until perfectly combined.
  • Fill the liners 2/3 full and bake for about 15-20 minutes.
  • For the frosting, mix the butter in a mixer until it is soft and creamy.
  • Add 4 cups of sugar, milk, and vanilla at low speed until perfectly combined.
  • Add 2 more cups of sugar and mix until light and fluffy.
  • Store the frosting in the refrigerator until the cupcakes cool, once cool, decorate with a piping bag.
  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, place the melted chocolate in a piping bag.
  • On a tray with parchment paper, make the mustaches and place them in the freezer until they harden.
  • Place the mustaches on top of the frosting.
