Preheat the oven to 200ºC. Grease 12 molds of 8 cm. for cupcakes.
Prepare the German chocolate topping: mix 3 tablespoons of chopped nuts, shredded coconut, and brown sugar in a small bowl.
Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions, reducing 1/4 cup of water.
Fill the molds halfway. Evenly sprinkle the chocolate topping over the cupcakes.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cupcakes comes out clean.
Unmold and let cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm or completely cool.
