Surprise Cupcakes

These surprise cupcakes are delicious and easy to prepare, with an exquisite filling of dulce de leche that will leave everyone craving a second cupcake.

  • 4 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 120 grams white chocolate, grated
  • dulce de leche, (dulce de leche)
  • icing sugar

  • Before adding the flour to the mold, we sift it (pass through a strainer to eliminate any lumps it may contain).
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C or 360 F and place cupcake liners in the cupcake molds.
  • In a saucepan, we combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
  • The eggs are beaten separately with the vanilla.
  • We combine the egg mixture with the flour, mix well (this mixture can be done with a mixer or with a spatula) and add the butter, beating constantly until a compact and homogeneous mixture is achieved.
  • We incorporate the grated white chocolate with a ladle and mix gently.
  • We add the mixture to the molds, filling them 3/4 full (do not fill the mold completely, remember that cupcakes rise and this will prevent overflow).
  • In each of the molds, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of chocolate chips, pushing them in as much as possible.
  • Place them in the oven, cooking for approximately 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out dry.
  • After the set time, remove them from the oven and let them cool.
  • Additionally, place the dulce de leche (arequipe) in a piping bag with a filling tip, and fill each of the cupcakes; dust with powdered sugar. You can also decorate to your liking.
