  • First, mix the butter with the sugar by hand using a spatula, and once well combined, add the two eggs and start mixing with a whisk. Beat the butter a bit to soften it, mix it with the sugar, and then add the eggs one by one. Then, gradually add the flour, the yeast, the vanilla extract, and the milk. If you used a hand blender, the mixture will be more liquid than with a stand mixer. As always, bake at 180°C (if using a fan, a bit lower, I set it to 160°C) for 20 minutes, and it's done!! For the cupcakes, I used the vanilla cupcake recipe I always use - it's hard to change when something works so well. Once cooled, I filled them with bitter orange marmalade. There are various ways to fill cupcakes. In this case, I did it by cutting off the top with a knife as explained in this tutorial. Once filled, it's time to make the buttercream.
  • For the buttercream: beat the butter until creamy. Add the chocolate and beat until well mixed. Then, add the vanilla and powdered sugar gradually while continuing to beat until all the ingredients are perfectly combined. You will end up with a buttercream that has a very good consistency and a lot of chocolate flavor. Just pipe it into a piping bag and decorate the cupcakes. As usual, I decorated with Wilton tip 1M. Chocolate on the outside, orange on the inside. For me, who loves citrus and chocolate, there can be no better combination.
