5 cups popcorn kernels
1 tablespoon baking soda
3 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Prepare two large baking sheets with wax paper.
In a large pot, mix the sugar, salt, butter, and 1 cup of water.
Cook for 15 minutes, making sure to stir continuously with a wooden spoon. The mixture will turn into a thick caramel.
Quickly remove the caramel from the oven and add the baking soda. This will cause the caramel to start bubbling and cool down faster.
Immediately add the popcorn to the caramel and mix well with the wooden spoon.
Spread the caramel popcorn onto baking sheets and let cool.
As soon as it's cool, cut into small pieces with your hands.
