Homemade White Donuts

  • 4 tablespoons cow's milk, warm
  • 7 grams dry yeast
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 45 grams butter, at room temperature
  • flour, to roll out
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • icing sugar

  • Dissolve the yeast in warm milk, let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, add the flour, salt, sugar, then add the hydrated yeast and the eggs.
  • Add the milk, knead for 7 minutes, add the butter and knead until you have a smooth and soft dough. Let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface, to about 3 mm thick, using a small cutter, cut the dough, then use a smaller cutter to cut the center of the dough, until you have donuts.
  • Heat the oil over medium heat, fry the donuts for 3 minutes, until they have a golden color and immediately roll them in powdered sugar.
  • Serve with a glass of milk.
