Dissolve the sugar in hot milk, add the yeast, and let it activate for 15 minutes.
Mix the flour, yeast, and other ingredients except the ricotta cheese and powdered sugar. Knead until you achieve a smooth dough consistency.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Place the dough on a floured surface and roll it out with a rolling pin until it is half a centimeter thick.
Use a cookie cutter to cut out 6-centimeter circles.
Spoon a bit of ricotta cheese onto half of the circles, put some of the egg mixture around the circle, and cover with another circle. Seal the sides with your fingers.
Cover the donuts with a cloth and let them rise for another half hour.
Fry the donuts in hot vegetable oil until golden brown (3 minutes on each side). Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Decorate with powdered sugar just before serving.
