Biscottis are perfect Tuscan sweets to enjoy with your coffee at any time of the day. Dare to try these delicious biscottis with our recipe for the famous crunchy Italian cookie that no one can resist. Biscottis usually contain nuts and can be made with or without chocolate; you can also add butter to make the dough softer; either way, you will love them!
In a bowl, sift the flour, Rexal® baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, mix the butter and sugar with a mixer for 2 minutes, add the vanilla extract, almond extract, and anise seeds, and beat for 2 more minutes; then incorporate the eggs one by one until fully combined; add the sifted dry ingredients and the almonds. Chill for 1 hour.
Form 8 cm diameter logs of dough with your hands and place them lengthwise on a baking sheet. Bake at 180 °C for 20 minutes. Let cool slightly.
Slice the log to make the biscottis using a serrated knife and bake at 160 °C for 15 more minutes. Cool.
Decorate with melted chocolate and sliced almonds.
