Butter Cookies in Heart Shape

  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C.
  • In a large bowl, mix the butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Gradually add the flour, beating after each addition until well incorporated.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the dough and on a floured flat surface, roll out the dough. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the dough and place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Once ready, make a cut at the bottom of the heart to hang the cookies on the cup, keeping in mind that the cookies will expand when baked.
  • Bake the cookies for 15 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  • Serve the cookies by hanging them on a cup of coffee.
