  • 4 cups corn masa flour
  • 1/2 cups piloncillo, grated
  • 2 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1/4 cups vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 3/4 cups milk

  • In a bowl, combine corn flour, grated piloncillo, powdered milk, vegetable shortening, evaporated milk, baking soda, egg, and ground cinnamon.Place the dough on the table and knead until combined. Let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. Set aside.
  • Roll out a bit of dough on a flat surface and form a strip. Cut into portions and braid each strip of dough.Transfer to a baking sheet and bake the coricos at 180 °C for 30 minutes.
  • Serve the coricos and accompany with a cup of coffee.
