  • 3 cups almonds
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • butter

  • In a skillet over low heat, toast the almonds until they release their aroma. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan, cook the sugar over low heat until it forms a caramel of amber color.
  • Add the almonds and mix very well. When the almonds are coated with caramel, add the vanilla and mix.
  • Place the mixture on a greased baking sheet with butter and spread it out. Compact it very well and let it dry.
  • Cut into squares or rectangles using a butter-greased knife and serve.
