Original Rice Pudding

This is a Mexican recipe to wrap up any family meal in style, treat your guests or family with a delicious original rice pudding.

  • 1 cup rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 cups cow's milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cups raisins
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • cinnamon powder

  • Put rice in a large pot with water, cinnamon stick, and salt.
  • Heat over high heat until it starts to boil, then reduce heat and cover until almost all the water is absorbed.
  • Add the milk and sugar, increase the heat and stir until it thickens.
  • Add the vanilla and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 25 minutes.
  • Serve in individual cups, decorate with raisins and ground cinnamon.
