Strawberry Custard

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cups powdered strawberry flavoring
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter, smooth

  • Boil the milk together with the powdered strawberry flavoring over medium-low heat.
  • Place the egg yolks and cornstarch in a bowl, then mix with a whisk until the preparation is well integrated and appears a very light yellow.
  • Place a little of the hot milk into the egg mixture and stir constantly to prevent cooking.
  • In the pot where you boiled the milk, add the egg and milk mixture, return to a boil over medium heat, and using a whisk, stir constantly to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  • Once it boils, remove from heat. Add the softened butter, mix in, and let cool.
  • Serve the strawberry custard in glass cups and decorate with mint leaves and strawberries.
