I present to you a family recipe, the typical buñuelos from my town, in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. It is a delicious dessert, very economical to prepare, and with a very rich flavor.
2 sweet potatoes, (can be substituted with potato)
750 milliliters cow's milk
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons anise
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon salt
2 liters vegetable oil

Boil the sweet potato with half a cup of water.
Once cooked, add 2 cups of milk and the anise, and let it cool.
Dissolve the yeast in the remaining milk (which should be warm) and blend with the sweet potatoes and the other milk.
Gradually add to the flour and stir, add the sugar, salt, and margarine, continue kneading until it forms bubbles, let it rest until it rises, then shape the buñuelos and fry in oil.
