Venezuelan Flan

  • 1 can condensed milk

  • Caramel: In the container where you will place the flan in a water bath, add 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Heat it until it starts to thicken and turns caramel color. Do not let it get too dark. Lower the heat and swirl the container so that the caramel spreads across the bottom and sides of the container.
  • Flan: In a blender, mix the condensed milk, eggs, vanilla, and liquor to taste. Use the condensed milk can as a measuring cup; fill it with milk and add it to the previous mixture.
  • Pour the previous mixture into the can where you prepared the caramel and place it in a water bath for 30 minutes.
  • Let it cool to unmold and enjoy your flan.
