In a small pot over low heat, add the coconut, milk, vanilla essence, sugar, and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes or until the liquid has evaporated and you can see the bottom of the pot. Do this without stopping stirring.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish or mold and spread it out. Place in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cocada is golden brown.
Remove and let cool. Wrap your cocadas in tissue paper.
