1 1/2 cups cow's milk
5 teaspoons sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 teaspoons orange liqueur , Grand Marnier

In a saucepan, mix one cup of milk with the sugar until it starts to boil.
Meanwhile, stir the yolk and mix it with the milk and cornstarch, then add it to the boiling milk.
Stir constantly until it thickens and add the vanilla and Grand Marnier if desired.
Remove from the heat and let it cool, stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.
