Complete your store-bought flan

Here’s a recipe to enhance the flan sold in supermarkets; I assure you that you will like it a lot, it adds more flavor and better consistency. It is very quick and easy to make.

  • 1 package flan, 6 servings
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest

  • In a saucepan over low heat, wait for the whole milk to be completely warm and gradually incorporate the flan mix, making sure there are no lumps, and add the vanilla.
  • When it is boiling, add the previously beaten egg in a thin stream and the butter.
  • Let it dissolve very well and add the lemon zest.
  • Place the liquid caramel at the bottom of a nice container and add the mixture at room temperature, let it cool for a moment until you can put it in the refrigerator.
