  • 1 cup sugar, for the caramel
  • 2 Mexican chocolate tablets
  • 1 cup cow's milk, warm
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 8 eggs

  • Preheat the oven to 150° C.
  • In a pot over low heat, cook the sugar until it forms an amber caramel without stirring to avoid crystallizing the sugar. Pour it while hot into a 20 cm diameter flan mold and let it dry.
  • For the flan, blend the table chocolate with warm milk, vanilla, evaporated milk, and cream cheese until you achieve a homogeneous mixture. Pour into a pot and heat over medium heat, meanwhile in a bowl beat the eggs with the condensed milk and add to the pot.
  • Cook the flan mixture for about 5 minutes without stopping to stir until it reaches a thick consistency, but be careful not to overcook the egg.
  • Carefully pour the preparation into the mold with the caramel and bake in a water bath for about 1 hour and a half or until cooked. Cool slightly and unmold.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
