Prepare a square dish measuring 15-20 cm with wax paper.
In a medium pot, cook the blackberries over medium heat until they begin to release their juices (about 5 minutes).
Pass the blackberries through a strainer and push the blackberries to release their juices and part of the fruit. You should obtain 2/3 cup of blackberry puree (if you get more, save it for later).
Add the lemon and gelatin to the blackberries, mix well, and allow the gelatin to absorb for 4-5 minutes.
In a large pot, combine the water and sugar and cook over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.
Remove the pot from the heat and add the blackberry gelatin, mixing until it has completely dissolved. Return the pot to the heat and cook, stirring constantly, until it is about to boil.
Pour the gelatin into the dish and allow it to sit at room temperature for at least 12 hours before cutting into squares.
With a sharp knife, cut the squares (approximately 60 should come out) and roll them in extra fine sugar.
