Fruit and Nutella Puff Pastry Braid

  • 1 tablespoon Nutella®, 15 g
  • 1 cup strawberries, into quarters
  • 1/2 cups blueberries
  • 1/2 cups raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cups raw sugar
  • 500 grams puff pastry
  • flour, for spreading
  • 1 egg, for glazing

  • Mix the strawberries with the blueberries, raspberries, melted butter, and brown sugar in a bowl until fully combined. Set aside until use.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • On a flat, floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to half a centimeter thick, then cut rectangles of 21 x 12 cm. Place the rectangles vertically and make diagonal cuts at a 45° angle and 5 centimeters long on the sides, so that there is a base of dough in the middle to place the filling. These incisions will help to braid the dough later.
  • Fill the dough with the fruit mixture, close it by interlacing the strips to achieve the braid, and you will notice how it gradually takes shape. Glaze the puff pastry with the help of an egg, ensuring it sticks properly. Place the filled braid on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 180 °C for 20 minutes. Once out of the oven, let it cool.
  • Spread each fruit puff pastry braid with a tablespoon of Nutella® (15 g).
