Baked Stuffed Apples

  • 4 red apples
  • 1/4 cups raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 1 cup water, boiling
  • walnuts, chopped (optional)
  • raisins, (optional)

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Wash the apples very well, dry them and remove the core with a Parisian spoon, being careful to only remove half without piercing the bottom.
  • In a bowl mix the brown sugar, raisins, chopped walnuts, and ground cinnamon.
  • Stuff the apples with the mixture, it should not exceed the edge.
  • Place a tablespoon of butter on top of each one.
  • Arrange them in a baking dish, and pour boiling water inside.
  • Bake at 190°C for 30 minutes or until the apples look soft but not mushy.
  • Remove from the oven, serve them drizzled with the juices from the dish.
  • Accompany with your favorite ice cream.
