Cherry clafoutis recipe

  • 1/2 cups Smucker's® cherry jam
  • 1 1/2 cups cherry , fresh, halved
  • unsalted butter , at room temperature, for greasing
  • brown sugar, for the pan
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter , melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • icing sugar, for decoration
  • cherry , for decoration

  • Mix Smucker’s Cherry Jam with cherries in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Butter a tart pan and sprinkle brown sugar, covering completely; this will help prevent the mixture from sticking. Place the cherries in the pan, covering the bottom well. Set aside.
  • For the batter: Beat the egg together with the sugar and vanilla extract at medium speed for 5 minutes. Once it begins to change color and the ingredients are combined, add the milk, butter, salt, flour, and orange zest. Beat for 5 more minutes.
  • Pour the mixture over the cherries until filling ¾ of the pan. Bake at 180 °C for 25 minutes or until it is puffed and cooked. Let cool.
  • Decorate the clafoutis with powdered sugar and cherries.
