Delicious Mexican dessert, very versatile as you can eat it hot, warm, or cold. You can enjoy it accompanied by cookies or, if you prefer, as a topping for your pancakes.

200 grams sugar
4 piloncillos
1/2 cinnamon sticks
1 liter water

Wash the guavas and cut off the ends (the flower part and the stem). Cut them into 4 pieces lengthwise.
Put the water in a pot along with the cinnamon, piloncillo, and sugar. Once the piloncillo dissolves, add the chopped guavas.
Keep the heat on medium so that it doesn't boil excessively and the guavas break apart.
Let it cook on medium heat for about 30 minutes or until the guavas change color.
