Guava Syrup

Delicious Mexican dessert, very versatile as you can eat it hot, warm, or cold. You can enjoy it accompanied by cookies or, if you prefer, as a topping for your pancakes.

  • 12 guavas, medium
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 4 piloncillos
  • 1/2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 liter water

  • Wash the guavas and cut off the ends (the flower part and the stem). Cut them into 4 pieces lengthwise.
  • Put the water in a pot along with the cinnamon, piloncillo, and sugar. Once the piloncillo dissolves, add the chopped guavas.
  • Keep the heat on medium so that it doesn't boil excessively and the guavas break apart.
  • Let it cook on medium heat for about 30 minutes or until the guavas change color.
