In a medium-sized pot, place the water, sugar, and white wine. Cook over medium heat until boiling, then lower the heat and add the pears. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Remove the pears from the syrup and place them on a platter.
In a blender, blend half of the raspberries with a couple of tablespoons of the syrup and the vanilla.
Refrigerate the pears and the sauce until both are cold.
Remove the sauce from the refrigerator 15 minutes before serving.
Place 1 pear on a serving plate, cover with a little sauce, and garnish with a couple of raspberries. Repeat with all the pears.
