Tostones de Plátano macho

A typical dish from the south of Mexico. Tostones de plátano is a traditional Mexican recipe that must not be missing when serving a stew or a dish of rice with beans. Fried plantains are a very tasty preparation.

  • 4 plantains, green
  • vegetable oil, for frying as needed
  • salt, to taste

  • Cut plantain slices 2 or 3 centimeters thick, fry in hot oil.
  • Once you have all your plantain pieces, flatten them (one by one; do not turn them into a puree) to make a tortilla, add salt, and fry again.
