2 cups whole milk
1 cup sugar
1/3 teaspoons cornstarch
3/4 teaspoons vanilla essence

Boil the milk together with the sugar and vanilla. Dissolve everything perfectly using a wooden spoon.
Dissolve the cornstarch with a splash of cold milk and add it to the milk.
Stir over medium-high heat and lower the heat once it starts boiling.
Stir constantly until it thickens and do not cover the pot so that the milk can evaporate.
Once it cools, transfer to the refrigerator, preferably in a glass container.
