1/2 tablespoons baking soda
3 cups Great Value® granulated sugar
4 tablespoons corn syrup
2 tablespoons vanilla essence
4 tablespoons brandy, or rum

Heat the milk over high heat in a pot along with the baking soda, sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla.
Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat and cook for about 1 hour, stirring constantly until it changes color and achieves a thick consistency.
