How to make a cake with store-bought bread?

  • 1/2 cups butter, melted
  • 1/4 cups orange juice
  • 1 walnut muffin, sliced, store-bought
  • 1 raisin muffin, sliced, store-bought
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • cooking spray, for greasing
  • 6 jars vanilla flavored custard, store-bought
  • 1 cup cream cheese, in cubes, for the topping
  • 1/4 cups hazelnut chocolate cream, for the topping

  • Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
  • Mix the melted butter and orange juice in a bowl until fully combined.
  • Place the slices of cake on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the bread with the butter mixture and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Bake for 10 minutes at 170 °C, be sure to check the oven to prevent the bread from browning too much. Once the bread is browned, cool and set aside until use.
  • Spray a little cooking oil in a loaf pan and cover the surface with cling film. Arrange a base of toasted cake slices at the bottom of the pan. Cover with vanilla custard and repeat this process until the pan is full, finishing with custard. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
  • For the topping: Soften the cream cheese with a hand mixer, then add the hazelnut cream and combine.
  • Unmold the cake once frozen, cover with chocolate topping, and decorate with fruit cereal. Refrigerate if necessary.
  • Serve well chilled.
