Place whole almonds on a tray and bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Stir constantly to ensure even browning.
Grind the toasted almonds along with the powdered sugar and almond essence in a food processor for 8 minutes or until you obtain a compact mixture.
Shape the marzipans on a tray lined with parchment paper, place a ring of 3 centimeters in diameter, pour the mixture, and press with the help of a spoon or a cup until shaped; make sure to compact it well by pressing firmly. Remove the ring and repeat until all the marzipans are done.
