4 eggs
1/2 cups icing sugar, or fine granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/8 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/4 cups icing sugar

Beat the egg yolks, half of the sugar, and the vanilla until pale and fluffy.
Beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar and the rest of the sugar until soft peaks form.
Incorporate the egg yolks into the egg whites, folding in the flour gradually using a sieve.
Put into a piping bag with a round tip (number 9 Ateco).
Place on parchment paper in the desired shape and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
