Red Apple Pie

Delicious apple pie that has been passed down in my family for generations.

  • 500 grams puff pastry
  • 5 red apples
  • 3/4 cups sugar 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
  • Peel the apples and slice them thinly.
  • Mix the sugar, spices, and cream together with the apples.
  • Divide the dough into 2 parts and roll it out to cover the 9-inch round Pyrex dish.
  • Add the apple mixture.
  • Roll out the remaining dough and cut it into strips.
  • Braid them and place them on top to cover the dish and the mixture.
  • Brush with the egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until lightly golden.
