Piping Cookies

  • 1 1/4 cups butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 cups maraschino cherries, for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • In a mixer, cream the butter with the sugar for 3 minutes.
  • Add the vanilla and continue beating.
  • Alternate the eggs with the flour, starting and ending with the flour. Beat until well combined.
  • Place the mixture in a piping bag with a star tip and shape the cookies.
  • Cut the cherries into eighths and decorate the cookies by placing a piece in the center.
  • Refrigerate for 15 minutes and then bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Cool and serve.
