Pistachio-Filled Puff Rolls

These delicious puff rolls are filled with pistachio, sugar, and cinnamon. You can make this same recipe by trying different fillings.

  • 500 grams puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 cups pistachios, unsalted crushed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter , melted

  • In a deep bowl, whisk the egg yolks and water.
  • In another bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
  • Place the puff pastry on a clean floured surface and cut out two squares of 20 cm.
  • Cover both squares with the egg mixture and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of the sugar mixture.
  • Sprinkle pistachio on 1 square leaving a border and cover with the other square, press to seal both squares and cover the top square with butter and the remaining sugar mixture.
  • Cut into strips 2 cm wide and roll the strips to look like in the photograph. Place them on a greased baking tray.
  • Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
