250 grams butter
3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
8 eggs, separate 6 yolks and whites
200 grams walnuts, chopped
1 cup sugar, for the syrup
1 cup water
30 milliliters sherry

Cream the butter and add the sugar. Add 2 eggs and then 6 egg yolks one by one, until incorporated.
Add the walnuts and the flour sifted with the baking powder. Finally, fold in the beaten egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Pour into a greased and sugared mold. Bake in the oven at 175°C for approximately 40 minutes. Drizzle with the syrup.
For the syrup: mix the water and sugar and heat over low heat until dissolved. Remove from heat and add the sherry.
