Lemon Pound Cake Café Style

I present to you a delicious lemon pound cake, just like the one sold in a very famous café (the one with a mermaid in the logo). You will see how delicious it is.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose wheat flour
  • 1/2 baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/3 cups lemon juice
  • 1/2 cups Gloria® unsalted butter
  • zest, lemon to taste
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cow's milk
  • 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice

  • Grease and flour a mold. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, butter, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Beat well until all ingredients are integrated.
  • Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ones, beat to integrate very well.
  • Add the lemon zest, continue beating.
  • Pour the mixture into a mold and bake for 45 minutes.
  • For the glaze: mix the powdered sugar, milk, and lemon juice. Beat well. Pour over the pound cake once it is cool.
