Mix the baking powder, flour, and salt, sift the mixture, and add chopped nuts.
In another bowl, cream the butter with 1 cup of sugar, adding the eggs one at a time. Turn off the mixer and add the orange zest and juice. Gently fold in the dry ingredients with a spatula.
Pour the mixture into a mold and bake for 1 hour.
Mix 1/2 cup of orange juice with 1/4 cup of sugar in a saucepan. Heat over low until all ingredients are combined. Pour this glaze once the cake comes out of the oven.
