Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, continue beating. Add the vanilla, rum, and cinnamon. Beat for five minutes until fluffy.
Reduce the mixer speed, add the flour in three parts, pouring a little milk at each stage.
Grease a loaf pan.
Turn off the mixer and fold in the banana, stirring gently. Pour into the pan.
Bake the loaf in a preheated oven at 175 degrees Celsius. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
