Make these delicious chocolate cupcakes with chocolate chips decorated with sugar prints and vanilla frosting. They are a great idea for children's parties or for decorating with your kids.
Preheat the oven to 350 F or 180 degrees Celsius. Place cupcake liners in a 24-cupcake tray.
Mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in the mixing bowl.
Add the sugar, softened butter, water, vanilla extract, and eggs to the mixer and stir until you have a smooth and homogeneous mixture.
Place the chocolate chips in a bowl and mix with 2 tablespoons of flour. Fold into the batter and stir briefly.
Divide the cupcake batter among the 24 liners until they are 2/3 full.
Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Prepare the vanilla frosting. First, beat 1/3 cup of softened butter until fluffy, then gradually add 4 1/2 cups of powdered sugar. Once incorporated, add 1/4 cup of milk and 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Tint with a few drops of blue food coloring until the desired shade of blue is achieved.
Shape the Smurfs and place them on top of the cupcake.
